Welcome!Hands On! The Hudson Valley supports local nonprofit agencies across the Hudson Valley with volunteer assistance. Our web site allows both volunteers and nonprofit agencies to submit online profiles and search for volunteer matches online. Our staff works with the volunteers and agencies to find the best matches. We currently have 1529 volunteers and 139 nonprofit agencies in the Hudson Valley signed up on our site, with more arriving daily. Click here to search our database of volunteer opportunities. Hands On! also recognizes the extraordinary efforts of volunteers and not for profits in our community. Hands On! The Hudson Valley and the United Way of Dutchess County are inviting the entire community to participate in choosing an awardee of our Spirit of Dutchess County Awards through an online nomination and voting process. Individuals, schools, community service and other organizations may nominate an individual, a youth, a group or a corporate group for the awards. All nominees will be honored at the Spirit of Dutchess County breakfast on June 23rd at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. In previous years, we have honored agencies that have made outstanding use of volunteers in the community with our Partners in Excellence Awards presented at our annual Masquerade Gala.
Hands On! also administers programs that include a volunteer component, namely the Ombudsman, Youthful Offender, Hire-A-Teen and Job Preparation and Placement Programs.
