| Event or short term need description: |
Manitoga is a house museum and grounds of Russel Wright - industrial designer, modernist and landscape architect from the middle 1900's.
Volunteer museum docents conduct tours through the house and woodland paths and help staff at special times when Manitoga is open to the public - representing Russel Wrights design philosophies, environmental pioneering, and introducing visitors to the wonders of Manitoga. Their involvement richly benefits the mission and work of Manitoga. Check out our website at www.russelwrightdesigncenter.org.
We need tour docents to give 1-4 one and a half hour tours per week Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
Giving tours to the interested, engaged public who experience Manitoga can be the highlight of your week there is nothing quite like the feeling of introducing a place and the sentiment behind it to an eager learner. Volunteers also participate in Manitoga adventures to other museums and special interest sites and lectures.
