Robert J. Hess, RN, BSN, CAVS
Bob joined Saint Francis Hospital in 1978 as a registered nurse in the Medical/Surgical unit. In 1979 he joined the Rehabilitation Unit (which was the first hospital based rehabilitation program in the Hudson Valley). In 1983 he became Nurse Manager, working with an interdisciplinary team of doctors and therapists coordinating inpatient’s programs.
From 2002 to the present, Bob is now the Director of Volunteers & Guest Services. Bob is responsible for the coordination and overseeing of patient needs during their hospital stay. Bob regularly lectures to the hospital community on customer service issues and cultural diversity.
Bob is very active in the New York State Association of Directors of Volunteers (NYSADVS) presently holding the office of President of the NORMET Chapter. Bob will function as the Co-Chairman of the 2008 Professional Development of the Association. Bob became credentialed as a “Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services” in 2006.
Bob earned his Associates Degree in Nursing from Dutchess Community College in 1979, his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from SUNY New Paltz in 1988.
In his spare time, Bob coaches for Cornwall Little League and is a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 20, Cornwall. |
