Volunteers

Hands On! The Hudson Valley is a central coordinating agency for recruitment, training and placement of volunteers in non-profit agencies and programs in Dutchess County. Since its incorporation in 1974, this organization has interviewed and referred over 6,000 individuals for volunteer positions in the community.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet new friends, share talents or learn new skills. There are many opportunities in our community and we can assist you with finding the right volunteer placement to meet your needs. Whether you have two hours a day, two hours a week or two hours a year, your time and skills are always needed and appreciated. Be sure to check out our "Do's and Don'ts" for volunteering.

The first step to joining our Volunteer Team is to complete a Volunteer Profile. The profile will enable us to help you find the right volunteer opportunity for you. Once your profile is activated, you can return to the site as often as you like and search through our online listing of volunteer opportunities. We'll even make suggestions based on your profile. You can submit requests to volunteer and we will assist you in setting up your volunteer engagements. In addition, your volunteer profile will be available to non-profit agencies who will contact us to inquire about your availability for volunteering.
